Overall, the website for NIC’s Digital Design and development program is very accessible. Alt text is available for each embedded image, most of the text contrasts nicely with the background colour, and the language used is easy to understand. I have ADHD, and the text being separated into small blocks of information made it way easier to stay focused while reading.

When zooming in on the page, the format of the text changes and the information is not lost, and it is compatible on all browsers I used it on (Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox). The page is responsive to screen dimension changes, and therefore will work on a mobile device or tablet.

If I were to rate the page’s understandability, perceivibility, operability, and robust out of five, I would give it a 4.5. I did find a few things about the page concerning, regarding perceivability. The light blue text against the blue background in the main banner doesn’t contrast enough. I have good eyesight, but the colours of the text could easily be lost to the background. There was also no alt text for the image slides in said banner. While it doesn’t contain a lot of information, it is still the initial thing you see on the page, and if someone with poor/no eyesight were to come across that, there would be no way for them to experience the full page.
